100 pages of articles, including a 7-page report on ‘The first 40 years’, of the Chicago Old Toy Soldier show. All plus adverts, editorial, covers, so approximately 110 pages total. All articles are written in German, but all have complete translations into English.

  1. 2 page introduction.
  2. The ‘Kaiser’s Proclamation’ at Versailles on January 1871, as depicted by Heyde. 4 page article, each page with photo.
  3. ‘Heyde’ figures storming the Annaberg, a 9 page article about modern ‘Heyde style’ figures made to depict the fights in Upper Silesia of 100 years ago.
  4. 19 page article describing the co-operation between the tin toy maker, Georg Fischer, and the lead figure maker, Spenkuch. A brief history of the sale of ‘Penny Toys’ and the background of many of the WW1 vehicles that were made in tin, mainly British and French tanks. A detailed discussion regarding the Fischer products, and which tank they were based on.
  5. 2 page review of the book ‘Georg Fischer Penny Toys’ by Ernst Plattner and Michael Bowes.
  6. 12 page article, with diverse illustrations, including metal figures and vignettes, of the Sleeping Beauty story. Stamps, book illustrations, paintings, metal figures, all depict the story.

Superb 21 page article ‘The Battle for Britain’s Children’, lead figures by Gebruder Heinrich (Noris) and Heyde depicting British Royalty, used in the battle of the toy makers, and a subject strangely neglected by Britains for nearly 100 years ! Superbly illustrated with some rare Noris and Heyde sets, including figures from the Delhi Durbar.
  8. 19 page article depicting ‘Swedish Kings in tin Part 1: From Gustavo Adolphus to Charles XII’. Part 1 of a 3-part article, the other parts to be published in later editions of Zinnlaube Magazine. Photos of the figures, and contemporary illustrations, are used in the article.
  9. 7 page article describing a recently discovered set of Spenkuch company moulds, which make a set of Salvation Army figures, that were not previously known about. With photos of the Salvation Army at work, and a photo of Britains Salvation Army figures
  10. 3 page book review of the superb ‘The Antonini dynasty in Rome’, the story of the Italian toy figure maker Antonini.
